Celebrating the partnership between the University of Southampton and Macmillan Cancer Support - MSRG Film Premiere

As part of the University’s 60th anniversary celebrations, the premiere of ‘Cancer Survivors’ was screened on 16th January 2013 to an eager audience in the Nuffield Theatre.

The short film about the ColoREctal Wellbeing (CREW) study was attended by Ciaran Devane, Chief Executive of Macmillan Cancer Support, the Vice Chancellor Professor Don Nutbeam, the film stars and many guests. The film focuses on two patients who are part of the unique CREW study which aims to improve support services for people who are living with and beyond cancer. The event was followed by a drinks reception.

The CREW study, funded by Macmillan Cancer Support and conducted by the Macmillan Survivorship Research Group, gathers information from over 1,000 colorectal cancer patients about life after their diagnosis.
