Southampton's Turner Sims Professor, violinist Adrian Chandler, and his ensemble La Serenissima have just been nominated for a Gramophone award.

The recording in question is 2011’s Vivaldi — The French Connection 2 and it has been nominated for the Baroque Instrumental category. This is the fourth time in five years that La Serenissima have been nominated — a truly remarkable achievement. The only year in which La Serenissima were not nominated was 2011 when there was no recording viable. The album Vivaldi — The French Connection won the award in 2010.
