The University of Southampton's Music Department presents two workshop performances of a new musical "Gabriel" on 14 and 15 December 2016.
Written by Andrew Fisher and Nick Stimson, Gabriel is a family Christmas comedy, telling the biblical story of the Nativity whilst touching on some contemporary issues – the plight of refugees, unplanned teenage pregnancy, social scandal, and the corruption of political leaders. Through it, Gabriel does as God commands, not knowing, (in this adaptation) in advance the plan – although some of God’s choices for the birth of his Son on earth, and some of the consequences, surprise him.
Admission is free. Whilst there will be tickets available on the door, please try to book in advance on EventBrite online (search: Gabriel A New Musical) as seating in the church will be limited. Additionally, please let us know if you are no longer available to attend.
