Reach your goals at Southampton by combining your ambition, your talent and our support

Choosing the right place to study is an important decision, with many factors to consider. Southampton is one of only 15 UK universities to be ranked in the top 100 globally (2013 QS World University Rankings) and in the Complete University Guide 2015, Southampton is in the top 20. Join us, a founder member of the Russell Group of research-intensive UK universities.

Our Malaysia Campus

We were invited by the Ministry of Higher Education to establish a branch campus for engineering within the EduCity@Iskandar development in Iskandar, Malaysia. Iskandar is the nation’s economic zone located in Johor, just minutes from Singapore. Our Malaysia campus opened in October 2012 and offers premier undergraduate degrees in engineering.

Welcome from Professor John McBride, Chief Executive Officer, University of Southampton Malaysia Campus

The University of Southampton has a global reputation for academic excellence. We are one of the top three universities in the UK for engineering and have established a branch campus within the EduCity development in Iskandar Malaysia to enable more students to experience our world-class education.

The University has had the privilege of educating international students from all over the world for over 50 years at our Southampton campus. We are fortunate to enjoy long-standing links with Malaysia that span many disciplines and levels of education and research.

At Southampton we are number two for electrical and electronic engineering and number two for mechanical engineering, in the UK, according to The Guardian University Guide 2015. Subject to MQA approval we will be offering aeronautics and astronautics in 2015. We are the premier university for aeronautics and astronautics, encompassing a broad range of disciplines in the field of aerospace, currently ranked number two in The Guardian University Guide 2015 and the Sunday Times University Guide 2014.

Our split campus (UK and Malaysia) degree programmes offer the chance to gain a unique ‘Southampton’ education for the first two years in Malaysia combined with the final two years at a world-class research-centred university in the UK. You will graduate with a degree from an internationally recognised university and gain a truly global education experience.

University of Southampton Malaysia’s premier undergraduate MEng Mechanical Engineering and MEng degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering programmes allow students to study using some of the latest research facilities and equipment in the world and put the theory they learn into practice to deliver real results. Both programmes have been approved by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).

We invite you to study at the University of Southampton and take your place at the cutting edge, among some of the most talented students and academics from around the world.
