How to apply

Apply to University of Southampton Malaysia by completing the online application form.

We take applications throughout the year for all programmes and strongly advise you to apply as early as possible.

How to Apply for Foundation Programme

Step 1

Complete your details and submit your application via our online portal.

Kindly note that:

  • A user account will automatically be created once you save your application.
  • You may take your time to complete your application by saving your progress and resume your application at any time. Our system will automatically send you a unique login ID and password to your email provided in the online application form.
  • An acknowledgement email to confirm receipt of your application will be sent to your registered email once you have fully completed the application. The receipt contains your unique Participant ID as well as detailed instructions to complete your registration.

Step 2

Please scan and email all the required supporting documents stated below to USMC.foundation@soton.ac.uk. Kindly state your Unique Participant ID in your email for our reference. 

Required Supporting Documentation:

  • IdentificationMalaysian students:
    - National Registration Identity Card (NRIC) – Both Front and Back
    - International students: Passport – Personal Details Page
  • Academic ResultsOfficial
    - Academic Transcript and Certificate certified by your school or institution
    - Forecast Results certified by your school or institution – if official results are not yet available
  • Evidence of English Language Qualification
  • Other Academic Award Certificates (if any)

Note: Please ensure all scanned documents are clear and readable.

Step 3

 

The admissions team will process your application upon receipt of your application form and complete supporting documentation. Admissions team will update you on your application outcome once the admission assessment process has been completed*. In the meantime, a UoSM counsellor will contact you personally to assist and support you on your enquiries.

*Generally, once the application processing cycle for a particular intake has started, you will receive a reply from the admissions team within a week. However, processing time may vary case by case due to individual circumstances and you will be updated accordingly.

How to Apply for Undergraduate Programme

Step 1

  • An acknowledgement email to confirm receipt of your application will be sent to your registered email once you have fully completed the application. The receipt contains your unique Participant ID as well as detailed instructions to complete your registration.

Please scan and email all the required supporting documents stated below to admissions.malaysia@soton.ac.uk. Kindly state your Unique Participant ID in your email for our reference.

  • Identification
    - Malaysian students: National Registration Identity Card (NRIC) – Both Front and Back
    - International students: Passport – Personal Details Page
  • Academic Results (Entry Qualification)
    - Official Academic Transcript and Certificate of Completion certified by your institution
    - Forecast Results certified by your institution – if official results are not yet available
  • Academic Results (Previous Qualification – Eg. SPM / High School Transcripts / O-Level or equivalent)
    - Official Academic Transcript and Certificate certified by your institution
  • Evidence of English Language Qualification
  • Other Academic Award Certificates (if any)

Step 3

English language requirements

IELTS 5.5 overall, minimum 5.5 in all components, or UEC English B4 or equivalent, OR

Grade C in SPM 1119 English (cohort before 2021), SPM CEFR Level B2 or above (cohort from 2021 onwards), Grade C in GCSE English, Grade A in IGCSE English as a Second Language or equivalent.
