Event details

This lunchtime workshop for NAMRIP members will be led by Professor Robert Read to facilitate collaboration on the AMR theme 'Understanding resistant bacteria in context of host'.

This workshop is open to all PhD students, Early Career Researchers, Academics and Clinicians within the NAMRIP network. It will provide an opportunity for members to share expertise, plans and ideas for working together on Theme 1 topics which include:

  • Biofilms
  • Nutrition

11.40 - 12.30 5 minute presentations:

  • Professor Robert Read (Faculty of Medicine) ‘Experimental human challenge’
  • Dr Xunli Zhang (Faculty of Engineering) ‘Flow dynamics in the obstructed and stented ureter within a biomimetic artificial model’
  • Dr Sandra Wilks and Dr Jacqui Prieto (Faculty of Health Sciences)
  • Mr Rami Salib (Clinical and Experimental Sciences) 'Intracellular staph aureus in chronic rhino-sinusitis - a potential mechanism for antibiotic resistance'
  • Questions and discussion – Chaired by Robert Read
