Neuronal uptake of fluorescent nanoparticles
The nanoneuroscience group is focussed on the development of nanoparticles as drug-delivery vehicles. We are synthesizing biocompatible, polymer-based systems for targeted delivery within tissues. Nanoparticles, by virtue of their size readily gain access to cells. Once inside they may disrupt cellular organelles. We are interested in studying the fate and consequence of nanoparticle ingress into the central nervous system.
