She studied for her PhD at NOCs, then took a postdoctoral research position at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa before returning to Southampton.  Ben Ciotti was another  one of the teaching fellows from Ocean and Earth Science who presented a poster at the conference. Professor Tim Minshull Head of Ocean and Earth Science was also one of the judges on the day.

The Conference also included talks by young researchers across Chemistry, Biological Sciences and Ocean and Earth Science. Dean Professor Stephen Hawkins commented "Events such as these are an opportunity to celebrate the great work going on; share experiences and perspectives and learn from each other in terms of career development and prospects".
