Research interests

I have started a PhD at the University of Southampton (NOCS), on the palaeogeographical distribution of Late Jurassic-Early Cretaceous boreal marine reptiles. This is in collaboration with the Spitsbergen Jurassic Research Group at the Natural History Museum in Oslo. My MSc project at the University of Oslo, was to decribe a new species of ophthalmosaurid ichthyosaur from the Upper Jurassic of Spitsbergen. My research is primarily in Mesozoic marine reptile evolution, palaeobiogeography, phylogeny and comparative anatomy. I have conducted fieldwork on Svalbard (Norway) on numerous occasions, in the fields of biology, geology and palaeontology.

Research Project Title: Palaeogeographic distribution of marine faunas in the Late Jurassic-Early Cretaceous, with emphasis on Boreal marine reptiles.
