MSc (Diploma) in Mineralogy/Geochemistry, University of Potsdam

My master's thesis focused on the geochemical and isotopic fingerprints of ultramafic lamprophyres and the chemical composition of phlogopite phenocrysts. I used isotopic and chemical evidences to implicate genetic relations between ultramafic lamprophyres and carbonatites from the UML-CR complex of Delitzsch, Germany. During my study, I worked in the Department of Inorganic and Isotope Geochemistry at the GFZ Potsdam where I developed a strong interest in isotopic systems (Sr, Nd, Pb), working in a clean laboratory and on TIMS.

Research interests

I am interested in the evolution of mantle-derived, ultramafic and basaltic rocks, in particular their chemical and isotopic fingerprint. My special interest in the alteration of these kinds of rocks and how their geochemical signal and mineralogy is influenced by weathering and other secondary related processes.

My PhD project is focused on the evolution of laterites and the identification of Cr isotope pathways during the weathering process to get a deeper understanding for the development of these economic important deposits.

Research project: Cr isotopes as a tracer of supergene ore deposits
