Fantastic Results in the 2016 National Student Survey

Published: 19 October 2016
National Student Survey

The National Student Survey (NSS) is an annual survey of students in their final year of study. In the 2016 NSS, Philosophy at Southampton was ranked 1st in the Russell Group for 'Overall Satisfaction' and 'Assessment and Feedback'.

In addition, 100% of our students agreed that staff are good at explaining things, a score which places us 1st in the UK, while 100% of students on the Philosophy BA felt that staff are enthusiastic about what they teach, and that the course is intellectually stimulating.

These are fantastic results which reflect the effort, imagination, and thought that the philosophers at Southampton put into their research-led teaching.

In consultation with student representatives, we will reflect on these results and continue to explore ways of developing and improving the education we provide.
