Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship success

Dr Nils-Hennes Stear has been awarded a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship funded by a €195,455 grant.

Nils will spend 2 years as a Fellow with Philosophy at Southampton, starting in September 2017. The title of his project is: Art and Ethics. As the name suggests, the focus of the project is the way in which an artwork's ethical character bears on its aesthetic qualities. For example, if a film embodies or endorses a racist perspective, is it artistically flawed as a result? The project will involve a number of workshops and conferences, as well as a summer school. There are also ambitious plans for engaging non-academic audiences, including special exhibitions at local museums and galleries.

This high-profile project will raise further our international reputation for work in aesthetics and ethics. Watch this space for further details!
