Supporting our research students
The University is committed to supporting and nurturing its postgraduate research students within a world-class research environment.
If you join our ever-expanding community of over 1900 research students, you will find many sources of support available to you, from the local level of research groups and academic disciplines, to wider Faculty groupings, and also at an institutional level.
From August 2010, central provision for research students will be enhanced by the emergence of a new Researcher Development & Graduate Centre, with the following objectives:
- Supporting and fostering best practice in researcher development at Southampton
- Delivering a central programme of skills training and personal development opportunities to meet the generic needs of research students from across the University
- Enabling and facilitating interactions between research students across disciplines and cultures.
