The focus of much of our research is on the development, application and understanding of the impacts of a wide range of intelligent transport systems (ITS), with particular emphasis on traffic control, information provision and human factors. Additional research is undertaken in the
areas of public transport priority, energy and the environment, freight and logistics, future technologies, rail operations and transport policy.
We work closely with other research groups, local and central government, industry, consultants and international organisations, including the UK-China ITS Centre (UCIC), directed by Professor Jianping Wu. We currently hold research grants of over £5 million from EPSRC, the EC and industry.
