Our multidisciplinary research employs a range of analytical, computational and experimental techniques, and our strength lies in this sophisticated mix of engineering methods coupled with industrial applications. We host the Southampton Regional e-Science Centre, the Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre for Computationalf Engineering, and the Microsoft® Institute for High-Performance Computing.
We have recently benefited from funding by Microsoft® to acquire the Spitfire supercomputer system, one of the few high-power systems in the UK running under the new Windows Compute Cluster Server system.
