You will study under the supervision of a team of academic staff and become a full member of one of our nine research groups. Elements of formal training include communication skills and project management; data handling and analysis; library and information retrieval. You will also choose two technical modules from appropriate MEng/MSc programmes. You will register initially for an MPhil, with conditional later transfer to PhD.

Funding: DTI; EPSRC doctoral and collaborative training accounts; partial studentships; research contracts with industry.
