Health care services for all registered students and their families

Healthcare

The University has two health practices based at the Highfield Campus, the University Health Service and Highfield Health. They provide a full range of health care services which are open to all registered students and their families. There is also a dental surgery on the Highfield Campus.

Counselling

The counselling service provides support for all students and staff of the University. Experienced and professionally qualified counsellors are there to help you tackle personal, academic or work related issues.

Personal Academic Tutors

Postgraduates studying on taught courses will be assigned a Personal Academic Tutor and a Senior Tutor. These tutors will help support you throughout your time here at the University of Southampton. Your Personal Academic Tutor will be your primary point of contact and will provide advice and guidance in academic work and progress. If you experience difficulties that affect your studies, your Senior Tutor will work with your Personal Academic Tutor to help you help you find the support needed from the wide range of student support services we provide.

Enabling Services

Our expert Enabling Services team provides a variety of support for students with disabilities or other special needs.

Nightline

The student-run help and information line, Nightline, is available from 8pm to 8am during term-time. It is free of charge when calling internally, otherwise calls will be charged at your local rate. Nightline is completely confidential.
