In this half day workshop colleagues involved in the design and implementation of student assessment will have the opportunity to critique and review a range of different approaches to summative and formative assessment. Assessment for learning and methods that involve students in the processes of assessment and feedback will be discussed. Colleagues will be invited to undertake a piece of assessment design and discuss the merits of different modes of self and peer and group based assessment. Learning outcomes: - At the end of the workshops participants should be able to - - Revise the key elements of module assessment - Evaluate a range of assessment methods - Critique approches that involve students in the assessment design and implementation - Discuss the design of a piece of assessment with a small group of colleagues
