Dr Angharad Rudkin is a Programme Tutor / Child Clinical Psychologist within Psychology at the University of Southampton.

As a Clinical Psychologist working with children and families, I am aware of the importance of offering high quality evidence based interventions which are tailored to the needs of the young person and the people that look after them.

As well as working clinically, I am a Programme Tutor on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Southampton. I organise the second year Child and Adolescent module which offers teaching session and workshops on current mental health issues and new development in the area of child mental health. My role also includes being a personal tutor, marking, moderating and supervising work by trainees and other students.

I think it is important that key messages around child and family well-being are not only limited to the clinic room or the classroom. I therefore consult with the media around articles on child and family issues both written and for radio and TV programmes.

My main areas of research interest are attachment, trauma and also the role that technology has on family dynamics.

My specific responsibilities on the course are to represent clinical and research interests around child & adolescent mental health. My duties include teaching, placement visiting and some research.
