Roger Ingham was invited (summonsed) by the Government’s Education Select Committee to provide oral evidence to their review of the status and effects of Personal, Social, Health and Economic education (PSHE) and Sex and Relationships Education (SRE) in schools and, specifically, whether there is a case for statutory provision.

The panel he served on held its first evidence session on Tuesday 21 October. Further details and a film of the hearing are available on the Education Select Committee website:

Last month Professor Ingham also helped launch Thailand’s first ever national sexual health strategy which involved a variety of activities from meeting with government officials and presenting a keynote address to numerous media activities including an appearance on tv watched by over 22 million people.

Next week Roger will be in New York to participate in a high level three-day meeting with United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Save the Children, International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the World Health Organization (WHO) and others to help develop guidelines for more effective monitoring and evaluation of Comprehensive Sexuality Education programmes on a global level.
