Government Areas of Research Interest

Whitehall

Areas of Research Interest (ARIs) are specific topics or issues that the government is interested in and indicate areas where government organisations are keen to hear research evidence or insights.

These areas are wide-ranging covering anything from economic and social policy to international relations and national security. They ensure that research efforts are targeted where evidence is most needed to inform policy decision, help solve problems and improve government performance.

At Public Policy|Southampton, we provide policy engagement support on a number of research projects and, as part of this, we look at how existing Southampton projects can address the relevant research questions from Government ARIs.

If you would like to be notified of new ARIs as they are published then please email us stating the ARI department that you are interested in.

If you feel that your research falls within an ARI and you would like us to support you on how best to engage with the relevant ARI department, then contact us here.
