Programme ValidationChanges to ProgrammesProgramme Closure

This section of the Quality Handbook contains all of the information relating to the operation of the University's taught programmes. This includes details of the University's Programme Validation process for both new and existing programmes, the procedure to be followed for the closure, suspension and/or withdrawal of programmes and the use of External Advisors in programme development.

The University's programme validation process is designed to ensure that all of its programmes are academically current, appropriate and sound, and that there is sufficient resource available for their successful delivery. Proposals for new programmes and to continue existing programmes after a period of five years are therefore subject to academic scrutiny and formal approval.
