Law at Southampton is one of only 8 U.K. law schools to hold the highest rating for outstanding international excellence in legal research.

We employ 37 full time academics, including 12 professors, five readers and four senior lecturers, many of whom are leading experts and authors in their respective fields, publishing books and articles in the leading national and international law journals on subjects as diverse as Maritime and Commercial law, Human Rights, Criminology, Information Technology Law, Social Welfare Law, Tort Law and Taxation.

In addition to the wide range of individual research interests, we have eight significant research groupings.
