The Eliahou Dangoor Scholarship Scheme (2012 entry)

Thanks to a generous £3 million donation by Dr Naim Dangoor, The Eliahou Dangoor Scholarships Scheme is assisting up to 4000 students at Russell Group and 1994 Group institutions across the UK from 2010.

As a participant in the scheme, the University will offer approximately 40 new scholarships annually to first year undergraduate students, each valued at £1,000 and tenable for one year. These scholarships are to support widening participation in STEM subjects – click the link to view the full list of eligible programs.

More information about the Eliahou Dangoor Scholarship is available on the Russell Group website.

The Dangoor Scholarship will be automatically provided to Univeristy of Southampton students with the least family incomes (and must be below £25,000) across STEM subjects in the University.*

To qualify students must be:

• A new, full time UK Undergraduate student
• In their first year at University
• Paying full tuition fees
• Eligible for SFE Funding
• Studying a STEM subject

(This criteria may be subject to change for 2012 entry)

Students in receipt of scholarships will agree to make at least one visit to their former school to give a talk on life at University (or other similar activity if this is not possible) and must be prepared to partake in publicity for the Scholarship.  These payments will be raised and the students notified by March 2013.

*  In the event that the number of equally eligible students exceeds the number of available scholarships, those students with the highest A-level tariff points, in conjunction with the lowest household income, will be awarded a scholarship.
