Money Doctors
The Money Doctors is a project organised by the University of Southampton and SUSU to help students in higher education become financially competent though education and intervention. Many students find it hard to balance their financial commitments and financial difficulties are a key reason why you might under perform academically or have to suspend or leave your course. Our aims are to encourage you to confront debt and to take control of your own finances before you get into difficulties. A key part of the Money Doctors philosophy is that prevention is better than any cure, and although the services involved offer assistance should you find yourself in financial hardship, we hope that we can help you avoid some of the pitfalls of student finance by:
- Encouraging you to take responsibility for your finances.
- Increasing your confidence so that you are better equipped to deal with future financial issues – and achieve financial capability for life.
- Equipping you with the skills to proactively educate each other and create a culture that encourages sensible financial management.
