Financial Information and Assistance

The Financial Information and Assistance Team is located in the Student Services Centre, (building 37).  They can provide advice on funding, grants and bursaries along with the possibility of providing an emergency short term loan.  They can also provide information concerning the Access to Learning Fund (ALF), which is discretionary financial support for those able to demonstrate genuine financial hardship. 

In most cases you will be required to make an appointment to meet with an advisor to discuss your situation in more detail, as each student is assessed on an individual basis.


The Student Advisory Team can:

• Receive bursary and Access to Learning Fund application forms
• Make appointments to see a Financial Information and Assistance advisor
• Issue cheques
• Answer queries regarding the UK Bursary
• Take re-payment of short term emergency loans

The Student Advisory Team is unable to:

• Arrange funding for international students.
