Deferring Study and Suspension
The University will be obliged to notify the UK Border Agency if you are no longer actively studying.
This may affect your permission to remain in the United Kingdom therefore you should seek advice before suspending your studies for any reason.

Changing Programme
If you change your programme of study to a programme at the University of Southampton which is shorter than your original programme you must inform the UK Border Agency immediately.
If you change your programme of study to a programme at the University of Southampton which is longer than your original programme you will need to check whether you need to extend your visa.
If you wish to start a programme at a different university you may need to make a new application to the UK Border Agency, please contact the Visa Guidance Team for Advice. You will also need to let the University of Southampton know that you are leaving the University and contact the other university to obtain visa sponsorship from them.
