Student Obligations
It is your obligation to comply with the terms and conditions of your visa at all times. Failure to comply with the conditions of your visa could result in you losing your right to stay in the UK.
You must make sure you read and understand the conditions stated on your visa.

Registration with the Police
If your visa requires you to register with the police you must ensure that you make an appointment to do this urgently and within the timescale set by your visa for registration. To book an appointment directly with Hampshire Police please telephone: 01962 871098 or 01962 871034
The Police Headquarters (HQ) is at:
Romsey Road
West Hill
Winchester.
Winchester is about 12 miles north of Southampton. The police station is near the train station and can be found easily using the map and directions.
You can get to the Police Station by car, train or bus and the directions are detailed in the Police Registration 2008/09 booklet produced by the Student Union Advice and information Centre.
To register with the Police you will need to take the following documents:
- your passport
- 2 passport size photographs
- the fee of £34
- your letter of acceptance from the University
Registering a Change of Address with the Police
When you have registered with the Police, change of address, notification of extension of your visa, or changes in immigration status can be dealt with at a local police station. The local police station will make a note of the changes on your Police Certificate.
