Schools and education have long been a popular theme for films and television programmes. In this talk we will look at a range of examples from different historical and cultural contexts. We will think about the different ways in which schools have been represented, why so many film and television writers and directors have decided to focus on this theme and how these representations compare to our own experiences.

Why is this important

Most of us devote substantial amounts of time to watching film and television. This will talk will help us to think about why we do this and how we make sense of the things that we watch.
