MEng Aeronautics & Astronautics / Structural Design

This programme focuses on the selection of materials, and the design of aerospace structures, demonstrating how materials behave in service and reasons why they sometimes fail. You will have opportunities to examine a number of case studies in collaboration with our industrial partners. Specialist modules will enable you to develop skills in the structural analysis of aircraft and spacecraft. This programme provides excellent preparation for research in this field.

The first two years of the course are identical to the BEng and MEng in Aeronautics & Astronautics (H422, H401). In years three and four you will study specialist modules such as Aerospace Design, Applied Aerodynamics, Manufacturing with Metals, Materials Service Performance, Structural Design, Aircraft Structures, Composites Engineering, Failure of Materials, Materials for Transport, Spacecraft Structural Design and Management.

For full details of the programme and modules available please view our Current Student pages.
