International Symposium on Fluid-Structure Interactions in honour of Professor W. Geraint Price
An International Symposium on Fluid-Structure Interactions was held at the University of Southampton, on 7 September 2009, in honour of Professor W. Geraint Price in recognition of his contributions on the subject. The symposium was attended by 80 delegates from North and South America, Asia, Australia and Europe. Invited papers were presented covering the range of activities within the wider context of fluid-structure interactions, including hydroelasticity and wave-induced loads on ships and offshore structures. These papers provide an overview of current research as well as discuss the many challenges remaining to increase the accuracy of numerical modelling. The papers appear in a special issue of the Journal of Engineering for the Maritime Environment (Proceedings of the IMechE, Part M) edited by Professor P.Temarel and available at http://journals.pepublishing.com/jeme.
