<description>A new £2.2M Centre for Multi-disciplinary Computer Assisted Tomography led by Professor Ian Sinclair, is to be included within the facilities at the University of Southampton. Over 40 academics, drawn from almost half of the departments of the University are committed to this initiative. Four core themes are identified in Engineering, Biomedical, Archaeological and Environmental Science, addressing many critical current human needs in areas such as energy, climate change and the origins of lifelong health. The centre will provide for the entire imaging process for samples of the order of an ant's head to a car engine.</description>

This exciting new book is a unique compilation of data from a wide range of chemical and spectroscopic instrumentation and the integration of nanostructure characterisation drawn from physical, chemical, electrochemical, spectroscopic and electron microscopic measurements.</description>
