Overview
Head of Group: Professor KH Luo
The Energy Technology Research (ETR) Group is the focal point for energy research within the School of Engineering Sciences. We are engaged in cutting-edge fundamental and applied research underpinning sustainable energy technologies. Our activities are organized around eight Research Laboratories, covering a wide spectrum of mainstream and renewable energy technologies. The group's mission is to address major scientific and technological challenges that the world faces in the 21st century and beyond in energy efficiency, emerging energy technologies and sustainability. We are also concerned with energy technologies' social, economic and environmental impact.
We use multi-disciplinary approaches and collaborate extensively with local, national and international research centres. Our activities are supported by world-class computing and experimental facilities, and are funded by research councils, TSB, industry and the EU. Excellent opportunities exist for postgraduate and postdoctoral research as well as for visiting scholars, industrialists and policy makers.
