Getting to Southampton

By train

Southampton Central rail station is served by direct trains from and to many cities across the country, including London, Birmingham, Oxford, Bristol, Leeds, Brighton and Manchester.

London Waterloo is a 1 hour 20 minutes journey to Southampton Central, passing Southampton Airport Parkway on the way and the local rail network services many suburbs and towns on the periphery of the city.

By coach

National Express coaches stop at the University of Southampton (Highfield Campus Interchange) and the main coach station at Western Esplanade. Coaches travel to and from various destinations all over the country.

By car

From the North, London and the Home Counties, the M3, M27 and A34 provide fast, direct road links into the city centre. The A36 is the major route from the West Country, Bristol and Wales. From the East, follow the A27/M27 and depart at Junction 8.

Parking at Avenue Campus, University of Southampton

If you arrive by car, please park in the car park on Avenue Campus and collect a parking permit from the conference registration desk. Please note that these are limited, and will be available on a first come first served basis. If you leave the conference early, please leave your parking permit at the registration desk so it can be used by someone else.

By air

Southampton airport is an international airport situated 6.5 km north of Southampton city centre. A variety of airlines, including Flybe, Eastern Airways, KLM, and VLM Airlines, link Southampton with several UK and international destinations.
