Learn about sunken cities

Sunken cities

A University of Southampton archaeologist has teamed up with TED to produce a free online lesson on sunken cities.

Peter Campbell, a PhD student at the University’s Centre for Maritime Archaeology, has created ‘The Tale of Sunken Cities’ to explain how Earth processes have submerged ancient cities under the ocean, and how these underwater realms can teach us about our ancestors.

Part of TED-Ed’s ‘Discovering the Deep’ series, the video lesson is also accompanied by a quiz, further reading and a discussion group; all of which are available here
