Who we are

We support the next generation of social workers in their vital work protecting children and vulnerable adults

Our masters programme is taught by academics who are themselves involved in significant research projects, examining how to improve existing systems and practice. Integral to the degree is a six-month placement in a local authority, charity or similar organisation, where students experience the realities of social work.

We also provide professional development training for social workers who want to enhance their skills and knowledge to advance in their career. These courses can be taken as individual modules or combined as part of a postgraduate programme.

Our taught programmes

Our programmes include a two-year MSc Social Work (Qualifying) and a flexible MSc Professional Studies with a choice of pathways and options for post-qualifying study.
