Methods Centre celebrates 5 years of improving research methods
On Tuesday 21st April 2009, the ESRC National Centre for Research Methods celebrated its first five years. The evening reception was hosted at the British Academy in London and it gathered a large group of people from across the social science research community with interests in research methods.
The Centre forms part of the ESRC’s strategy to improve the standards of research methods across the UK social science community. NCRM provides a focal point for research, training and capacity building activities. These activities are aimed at promoting a step change in the quality and range of methodological skills and techniques used by the UK social science community, and providing support for, and dissemination of, methodological innovation and excellence within the UK.
NCRM is a network of research groups, each conducting research and training in an area of social science research methods, with the hub based within the School of Social Sciences at the University of Southampton.
