Graham Crow will be leading a project which is part of the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC)-led Connected Communities programme of research.

The project is entitled ‘Conceptualisations and meanings of “community”: the theory and operationalisation of a contested concept’. The project focuses on how the concept of ‘community’ has been operationalised in recent empirical research, using a range of different research methods.

Derek McGhee and Pathik Pathak have also been successful in securing funding from the Connected Communities their project is a combined Research Review (which will examine the Coalition and Labour Governments’ use of the term 'social capital') and a Scoping Study (examining co-operative social capital amongst Faith Communities in Southampton).
