Full-time and part-time research opportunities are available in areas such as ageing and end of life; child welfare and kinship care; professional practice and education; and social and community development. We support our research students through our Postgraduate Research Programme (PRP) which enables all research students to participate in our wider research activities.

We offer several postgraduate study opportunities including a two year MSc Social Work programme, a Practice Teaching Programme, and a flexible MSc Professional Studies programme with a choice of five specialist pathways (one of which is ESRC-recognised).

The overarching theme of our research is developing and reconfiguring social work and its boundaries.
