Ocean and Earth Science rise four places in Guardian University Guide 2015.

Published: 3 June 2014

Ocean and Earth Science Southampton has moved up four places to number 17 to feature in the top 20 for Earth and Marine Sciences* in the UK, in the newly released Guardian University Guide 2015

This change matches a recent rise in the rankings in both the QS World University rankings and The Complete University Guide. Ocean and Earth Science Southampton strives to deliver the best possible learning experience for its students - from the innovative teaching to the unique field trips that we include in our degree programmes. Our Waterfront Campus offers an exceptional learning environment with access to research vessels and cutting-edge facilities.

We were particularly pleased to see that our dedication to ensuring that our graduates are well prepared  for employment was clear in this guide with only three other universities obtaining higher marks under the heading 'Career after 6 months', in the Earth and Marine Science league table.

Our degree programmes are designed with our students potential career pathways in mind. We have very strong links with industry and organisations that employ ocean and earth graduates. Many of these organisations support our dedicated Ocean and Earth Science careers day with over 25 organisations participating.

Ocean and Earth Science Southampton's position is a great achievement and the department will continue to strive to provide the very best educational experience for our students as part of one of the world's leading universities.
