SoNG meeting

SoNG provides an excellent opportunity for interdisciplinary training in neurosciences and the for the first step in a career in research, either in industry or academia. The strong links between basic and applied neuroscience in the Schools of Biology and Medicine and the interaction with engineering and computing generate many exciting and innovative topics for PhD projects.

If you decide that the lab bench isn’t for you after all you will still benefit greatly from our training programme. A lively programme of activities in public engagement and science for society serve to build important skills in managing responsibility, organisation and effective communication. This provides a strong basis for entry into a broad-range of professional career pathways.

For more information on our taught and research postgraduate degree programmes in neuroscience see our Graduate School web site.

‘We have been impressed with the high quality of post-graduate training and post-doctoral research conducted at the University to the extent that we have come to regard it as a useful recruiting pool.’
