The University is proud to offer a wide range of modern sporting facilities for our staff, students and wider community to use. Our partnership with the Active Nation network also gives some members access to additional gyms and swimming pools.

University sports facilities

Jubilee Sport and Recreation Centre

This £8.5m complex is the heart of the University's sporting community. The centre boasts a 25 metre pool, a large split-level gym, sports halls, squash courts, martial arts studios and much more.
Wide Lane Sports Ground

This 76 acre facility, just to the north of the city is where you can play football, rugby, hockey and much more. Grass pitches, synthetic pitches and tennis courts are all floodlit for use late into the evening.
Mayflower Gym

Located right in the heart of Southampton city centre, our newest gym is conveniently situated below our Mayflower halls of residence.

Active Nation sports facilities

As well as all University facilities, University staff and students with a Sport membership have access to a number of extra gyms, pools and leisure centres across Southampton. This is available through our partnership with the Active Nation network.
