Introduction

The Coaching and Training Services team run a series of tutor-led training courses for users of Banner. These courses are delivered by qualified staff and are usually held in our fully equipped training room located on level 5 of Building 2 on Highfield Campus.

When will training start and how do I book?

Training is available throughout the year and courses can be booked by on the Coaching and Training Services website 

What Courses should I sign up for?

Course outlines are available on the Caoching and Training Services websiste and the courses are provided on a rolling basis to enable you to fit training in with your workload and other commitments. 

You should stagger your training to allow expertise to be absorbed and consolidated, but you should not sign up for a course too early, or you will forget what you have learned before you need to use the system.

Why do I need Banner training?

Banner is the student record system for the University of Southampton, so it is essential that staff learn how to use it to their best advantage. Additionally, access to the different sections of the system will not be permitted unless the relevant training has been completed. In essence, you will not be able to do your job without it.
