What does my donation to the University of Southampton support?
The philanthropic support we receive from our alumni and friends enables the University to provide support for our students where donations are the most vital; continuing success now and for the future. The stories contained on the Impact of your support pages demonstrate how your generosity is helping us to achieve great success.

Please see our Annual Giving section for more stories about the impact of your gifts to the University through the Annual Giving Programme.

What is the Annual Giving Programme?
The Annual Giving Programme supports the strategic aims of the University, our students and our world class research by offering all alumni and friends of the University the opportunity to make an instant yet lasting difference by making a gift to one of the five strategic areas. These areas include Postgraduate Research Scholarships, Enterprise, Enhancing the Student Experience, The Library and the Vice Chancellor’s Strategic Fund to support the University where the need it greatest. To find out more on these funds and how you can become more involved visit the Annual Giving section of our website.

I already give to the University of Southampton but need to change the details of my Direct Debit (address, bank or building society account number), what do I need to do to make these changes?
Please contact the Annual Giving team by calling 023 8059 9077 or email annualgiving@soton.ac.uk

I have received a call from a student at the University. Why is this?
Many of our alumni and friends welcome the opportunity to speak to a current student to learn how they can have an impact on the University. Periodically throughout the year you may receive a call from one of our students. The aim of these calls is to update your details, tell you about any news or events happening on campus and offer you the opportunity to make a gift to the University if you wish to do so. Telephoning our alumni and friends is a great way for us to keep in contact with you and helps us to create a mutually beneficial relationship. If at anytime you wish to not receive a call from one of our students we ask that you please contact our Annual Giving Office.
