Lecture Summary: As a Postgraduate Research Student, Andrew worked on a interdisciplinary project between Chemistry and the Faculty of Medicine. The project investigated the design and synthesis of new materials to adhere cells by mimicking the extracellular matrix. He was investigating the potential of these materials as a vehicle for delivering cells to the retina for treatment of Age-Related Macular Degeraion - a disease that causs blindness in thousands of people across the UK.
