The University has an ongoing programme of improvements to physical access around the campus and the needs of people with disabilities are considered in the design of any new buildings and in major refurbishments.
The Hartley library is fully accessible to users with disabilities.
Like most institutions, some of our older buildings were designed before the current regulations and it is not always possible to make every floor of those buildings fully accessible to wheelchair users. We will always provide honest information about which areas are and are not accessible. In very rare cases, the limitations of either physical access or emergency exit requirements for certain areas which are crucial to your course may mean that you cannot be offered a place.
Accessible transport is available on campus in various forms. The Uni-link buses typically have a low floor, a ramped entrance and one or two wheelchair accessible spaces per bus. There is also an accessible minibus with a tailgate lift, which can be booked during teaching hours. Students with disabilities can be allocated parking permits for the campus residences.
