Prospective visits

If you request or are invited for a prospective visit, you will meet with a member of the Disability Service and a member of academic staff from the School which you are interested in joining.

You will receive all the information and advice you need during your visit.

During your visit, we will work with you to consider your needs and how they can be met. We will also advise you on claiming the Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA). If appropriate for the DSA process, we will refer you for a specialist assessment of your study and technology needs to Enabling Services.

After your prospective visit, you should not need to visit us again unless there is a significant change in the effects of your disability, or a long time has elapsed since your visit.

Students with specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia or dyspraxia are not usually offered a prospective visit but are welcome to contact the Learning Differences Centre for additional information and advice.
