We offer a wide range of services to support you whilst at University with any issues you may experience. This ranges from adjusting to living away from home for the first time, dealing with financial difficulties, to recovering from ill health.
A full health care service is available to all of our students and their families.
The University has two health practices based at the Highfield Campus, the University Health Service and Highfield Health. They provide a full range of health care services which are available to all registered students and their families. There is also a dental surgery on the Highfield Campus.
The counselling service provides support for all students and staff of the University. Experienced and professionally qualified counsellors can help you tackle personal, academic or work related issues.
Personal Academic Tutors
To support you in adjusting to University life you will be assigned a Personal Academic Tutor and a Senior Tutor. These tutors will help support you throughout your time here at the University of Southampton. Your Personal Academic Tutor will be your primary point of contact and will provide advice and guidance in academic work and progress. If you experience difficulties that affect your studies, your Senior Tutor will work with your Personal Academic Tutor to help you help you find the support needed from the wide range of student support services we provide.
Our expert Enabling Services team provides a variety of support for students with disabilities or other special needs.
