Find out about tuition fees for postgraduate study at the University of Southampton and discounts you could be entitled to on your masters or PhD fees.
Some courses have non-standard fees, which are set by the individual academic unit.

We generally charge two levels of fee. A ‘home’ fee applies for United Kingdom and European Union (EU) students. A higher ‘overseas’ fee applies for students from countries outside the EU. For full details and to check which fee applies to you, check your fee status.
International students starting a research programme of study in the 2016/17 academic year will pay the same fixed fee for each year of their programme. Our fees for full-time study for international students from outside the EU include the full cost of tuition, examinations, Students' Union membership and research support expenses (where applicable).
Fees are paid annually. For students starting their studies after September 2016 pay your fees in full by Monday 3 October 2016 to receive the one per cent discount or pay in two instalments during the year. Find out more about paying tuition fees.
We offer a one per cent discount on the personal element of tuition fees for full payments received by 3 October 2016 for students starting their studies after September 2016 (certain conditions apply).
If you are a final-year student at the University of Southampton, or one of our alumni, you are entitled to a 10 per cent discount on postgraduate course fees.
