Why did you choose to study at the University of Southampton?
Southampton University is renowned for its international community and multi-culture atmosphere with an award-winning beautiful campus. Accommodation and traffic facilities are also convenient, offering an attractive environment to me as an international student. The degree programmes in both science (BSc Chemistry for my undergraduate degree) and engineering are top ranking in the UK and around the world. The profound establishment of hardware and software in the unversity as well as the support offered by the faculty admin team made it possible for me to explore a wide range of degree courses with confidence.
What were your first impressions of the University of Southampton?
Friendly staff and efficient admin procedures.
What do you enjoy the most about living in Southampton?
Convenient traffic and access to green spaces.
What is your favourite spot on campus?
The hidden Valley Gardens behind SUSU building.
What has been your proudest accomplishment while you were in Southampton?
To serve as the coordinator of FEE Buddy Scheme (2016-17), managing a team of 50 which offers support to first year students and help them settle through the first few transition months of university life.
Would you recommend the University of Southampton to students from your home country?
Yes of course, because of the reasons why I chose to study in university of Southampton.
What will you do with your degree after you have finished your studies?
I am confident that I will be able to use the advanced skills I have built up in Southampton University to seek more involvement with industry or with academics around the world.
Do you have any stories about your time in Southampton or a happy memory you want to share?
I went on a few away trips with the hiking society from student union, and it is one of my personal favourite ways to travel around when the land is unfamiliar. I started to realise that Southampton is conveniently located for access to many attractions in UK, and I will never forget the shooting stars over the crystal clear night sky when we were camping out near Brecon Beacons in Wales.

There is so much to experience in Southampton, and the university has a very friendly environment for international students. All you need to do is to open up and look out for the opportunities. Always be prepared and be willing to explore.
